Formed in Melbourne by Monte Macpherson, Blip is a spinoff of his successful UK based video production company Hullabaloop Productions (est. 2003).

Monte has also been acknowledged as an independent director of fictional genre. He received a BAFTA Commendation for his first feature film, and was a Tropfest finalist in 2008 with the short Made In Australia.
